Abacha’s daughter reacts after seeing a campaign poster with her name, picture
Sani Abacha’s daughter has expressed rejection after seeing a campaign poster with her name and picture.
Fatimi Gumsu Sani-Abacha, the daughter of former and late Nigerian Head of State, Sani Abacha, has taken to social media to react after a campaign poster with her photo went viral.
The campaign poster indicated that she’s contesting for the post of a Senator, Kano State Central.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the late military Dictator’s daughter took to her official Instagram page to disassociate herself from the campaign materials.
Gumsu warned that she is not involved in partisan politics at any level and hasn’t indicated to run for any political post.
This reliable online news platform understands that Gumsu made this comment on June 7 in a disclaimer she posted online.
She wrote: “I would like to draw the attention of the general pubic to the recent proliferation of political campaign material bearing my name and person on numerous social media platforms.
“I wish to categorically state that I am not presently involved in partisan politics at any level and I have not indicated interest in running for any political office; the Nigerian Senate or any other office as currently being suggested.
“I urge members of the public to disregard these suggestions as they hold no truth whatsoever.
“I would also like to use this medium to counsel the purveyors of this material to desist from peddling any political material using my name and person.
“While sounding this note of caution, let me also take the liberty to encourage us all to stay safe. #Staysafe
Haj. Fatima Gumsu Abacha.”
