Lagos State Health Commissioner, Akin Abayomi tests positive for coronavirus

The Lagos State Health Commissioner, Prof. Akin Abayomi has tested positive for the deadly disease, coronavirus also known as COVID-19.
This was made public through the State Ministry of Health’s micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday morning, 24th August 2020.
It wrote: “@ProfAkinAbayomi Confirmed Positive for #COVID19.
“Subsequent to close contact with persons feeling unwell and testing positive for the #COVID19 infection, the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has tested positive for the virus,” tweet stated.
Also Senior Special assistant on New Media to the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has confirmed that Abayomi has contracted coronavirus, and will be going on 14 days isolation.
He tweeted: “FLASH: The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, @ProfAkinAbayomi has tested POSITIVE to the Corona Virus … he is doing well no symptoms .. will begin 14 days self-isolation & home care immediately… continues to discharge his duty as Deputy Incident Commander.”
