JUST IN: Details of President Buhari’s meeting with six Governors emerge

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday led the National Food Security Council Meeting at the Council Chambers, State House, Abuja.

Present at the meeting were at least six state governors, who are members of the National Food Security Council.

They are Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the council; Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa; Simon Lalong of Plateau; Darius Ishaku of Taraba; and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi.

Others include the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), some ministers among others.

A tweet from president Buhari’s Twitter handle afterwards, stated that “Food security remains at the forefront of our administration’s agenda.

“I chaired a meeting of the National Food Security Council today, where we noted the devastating impact of recent floods on the progress we’ve made so far.

“Our condolences go to the victims and their families,” the President said.
