Another Top Nigerian Politician Is Dead.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the Governor of Abia State’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Agwu Ukpai is dead.
He died after a brief illness.
The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and government officials were said to have felt Ukpai’s death.
Although the cause of his death was not revealed, Commissioner for Information, Mr. John Okiyi-Kalu, stated that Ukpai would be missed by all in government.
Okiyi-Kalu said in a statement: “It is with sorrow and a profound sense of loss that the Abia State Government announces the death of Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, PhD, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Governor, who passed away in the early hours of today after a brief illness.

“Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is in disbelief as he mourns the untimely death of Chief Ukpai, a long-time associate, mentor, and indispensable partner in development.
“Everyone in Government, in particular, and Abians in general, would miss him tremendously. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the immediate family, Ohafia LGA residents, and the good citizens of Abia State.
“May God give the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss, and may Chief Ukpai’s soul rest in the Lord’s bosom,” the statement read.
