2023 Election: Senate Approves Electronic Transmission Of Results
The Nigerian Senate has accepted the electronic transmission of election results.
This was contained in the Conference Committee report submitted to the chamber on Tuesday.
The electronic transmission of election results which is a proviso in clause 53 of the Electoral amendment act places on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the right to transmit results without subjecting their discretion to any other organ as was firstly captured that generated controversy.
INEC will now have to decide how to transmit election results — either electronically or manually.

The upper legislative chamber also approved that all political parties must use the direct primary mode in picking candidates.
The next presidential elections will hold on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
