Government Cancels Eid-El-Kabir Celebration, Gives Reason
Onyxnewsng reports that the Katsina State Emirate Council (KEC) has cancelled the planned Eid-el-kabir festival over insecurity.
This was issued in a public announcement made to state residents on Monday.
The council said the regular Hawan Daushe, a royal exhibition of garments and regalia that usually features horse riding, will not accompany the Sallah celebration scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2022.
The council, however, said the emir would lead Eid prayers that “all perpetrators of evil in the state and in Nigeria be exposed” in the mosque.
This message was conveyed through Alhaji Sule Mamman Dee, Assistant Secretary to the KEC, via a letter addressed to the Katsina State Television, Katsina State Radio, and Companion FM, Katsina.

It read, “The Emirate Council is informing the general public that by God’s grace, Saturday 9th July, the Emir will lead the Eid prayers in the mosque.
“With that, he is urging the people to pray for peace, and also pray that all perpetrators of evil in the state and in Nigeria be exposed.
“Also, the emirate is informing the people that the regular Hawan Daushe will not hold. May God grant us peace and unity. Amen.”
