BREAKING: INEC Declares PDP Candidate Winner Of Adamawa Governorship Election
Peoples Democratic Party candidate Ahmadu Fintiri has been declared the winner of the Adamawa governorship election.
He defeated his closest rival, Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress
According to INEC collated final results:
APC: 396,788
PDP: 430, 821
On Sunday, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State, Hudu Ari, declared Mrs Dahiru, also known as Binani, winner of the governorship election in the state while the collation of the results of the supplementary election held the previous day was ongoing.
Mrs Dahiru, on Monday, approached the court seeking court order to restrain the commission from voiding the illegal declaration that announced her as governor-elect.
In the application, she said Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who is candidate of the PDP, allegedly disturbed her declaration as winner of the poll and attacked an INEC National Commissioner, a situation that forced the electoral commission to declare the election null and void.
