Just In: Senates To Donates December Salary To Kaduna Bombing Victims 

The leadership of the Nigerian Senate recently made an important announcement regarding their donation to the victims of an accidental bombing in Tudun Biri village, Kaduna State.

Jibrin Barau, The Deputy Senate President, conveyed this information during a visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, to express their sympathy over the tragic incident.

The Senate leadership, represented by Senator Godswill Akpabio, expressed their deep concern about the bomb attack that resulted in the loss of numerous lives.

They assured the governor that the Senate, along with the executive arm of the government, would leave no stone unturned in investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

They further pledged to ensure that appropriate punishment is meted out to those responsible.

He said, “We are here to represent the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and indeed, other senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to sympathies with you and condole you for the lost lives and those who sustained injuries in respect of the unfortunate incident that happened at Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Grovernment Area of Kaduna some few days ago.

“We are all worried. We are all disturbed but the only thing we can say now is for the Almighty Allah Grant those who lost their lives rest and those who sustained different degrees of injuries for Allah allow them have quick recovery.

“We are here to show our solidarity and to show the fact that we stand by the Government of Kaduna State and indeed the entire people of this state, particularly, the people of Tudun Biri in this trying period that the state is experiencing.”

In response, Governor Uba Sani emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and the necessity of holding accountable those who were behind the bombings.

He attributed the incident to a lack of coordination among the security agencies and armed forces.

The governor also appealed to the senators to support the establishment of a state police force, as this would provide security agencies with better intelligence to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Subsequently, a group of senators, including Senate Majority Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Chief Whip Senator Ali Ndume, and Senate Minority Leader Senator Abba Morro, visited the Barrau Dikko Teaching Hospital to meet with the victims of the accidental bombing who were receiving medical care.
