Aiyedatiwa Sworn In As Ondo Governor
Justice Olusegun Odusola, the Chief Judge of Ondo state, officially administered the oath of office to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, making him the seventh civilian governor of the state.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the governor’s office in Akure precisely at 4:15 p.m.
The event was attended by prominent figures such as the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, and other members of the assembly.
Additionally, the secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, and the state chairman of the ruling party All Progressives Congress, APC, Ade Adetimehin, were present at the ceremony.
Various individuals, including members of the executive council, political office holders, and party members, also witnessed the occasion.
During his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his condolences over the unfortunate death of Governor Akeredolu.
Aiyedatiwa said: “The death of our governor and leader was a devasting shock to the people of the state. It’s a colossal loss to the state and Nigeria.”
He extended his sympathies to the governor’s family, the traditional ruler of Owo, and the people of the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the immense contribution of Governor Akeredolu to the region, particularly for establishing Amotekun, a security outfit that has significantly reduced banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in the South West.
Furthermore, he pledged to continue and complete all the ongoing projects initiated by his predecessor, Governor Akeredolu.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also emphasized that Governor Akeredolu’s track record of accomplishments was monumental and unparalleled.
