200 Underprivileged Students Get Free JAMB Forms
The Chairman of Badagry Local Government of Lagos State, Olusegun Onilude, distributed free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 200 underprivileged students yesterday.
Onilude emphasized the significance of education, highlighting that progress and development hinge on it.
He assured that his administration is committed to ensuring education is affordable and accessible to all members of the community.
The chairman said: “I was once a teacher and I understand the impact education can have on lives.
“We have reached out to over 2,000 students since inception of this administration because we hope to alleviate the burden of financial barriers, and give hope to our youths.”
During interactions with the beneficiaries, Onilude expressed his belief that this act would enhance and perpetuate education in the local government by nurturing skilled and knowledgeable young individuals.
“My advice to them is to ensure proper use of this opportunity by ensuring they pass their exams,” he added.
The Education Supervisor in Badagry, Mrs. Sewede Pot-Balogun, explained that the initiative aimed to provide relief to financially disadvantaged parents grappling with economic hardships.
She detailed the selection process, which involved interviews and National Identification Number (NIN) verification.
Pot-Balogun further added that the council organized complimentary coaching sessions for the candidates to support their success in upcoming examinations.
