Edo 2024: PDP Ighodalo Reveals Manifesto, Promises Prosperity In The State
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, alongside his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, revealed their election manifesto titled “Pathway to Prosperity for All.”
This comprehensive document, shared with journalists in Benin, the state capital, outlines their vision for various facets of governance in Edo State.
The manifesto encompasses key areas such as security, women and youth development, education, agriculture, food security, and rural and community development.
In addition, it underlines commitments to care for the elderly, support traditional and religious institutions, drive industrialization, safeguard the well-being of children and vulnerable groups, and leverage the diaspora’s potential for enhancing statewide progress.
In emphasizing active citizen participation, recognizing diverse skills, perspectives, and investments, the candidate aims to foster an inclusive environment that promotes collaboration and mutual respect to advance the state’s development.
Importantly, Ighodalo pledges to prioritize the youth, acknowledging their potential and commit to supporting their growth and development.
“We commit to enhancing educational opportunities, paying bursary to qualifying students, expanding job training programmes, and fostering an environment where your innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit can thrive.
“We will champion your rights, respect your voices, and ensure equal participation in all aspects of society. We commit to creating policies that safeguard your health, advance your education, and promote your economic well-being,” the manifesto read.
Furthermore, he underscores the significance of respecting and valuing the roles played by religious and traditional institutions, the elderly, and other key stakeholders in nurturing the spiritual and moral fabric of the state.
The manifesto also outlines plans for enhancing rural infrastructure, including road networks, healthcare facilities, and social services, to elevate living standards and ensure equitable access to essential amenities across all communities.
“And to the media, we will continue to uphold and protect your essential role in fostering an informed and engaged public. We commit to ensuring transparency and access to information, enabling you to report freely and accurately on matters of public interest,” it added.
