Senate Appoints Adepoju As NASRDA DG
The Senate confirmed Dr. Mathew Olumide Adepoju as the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NARSDA).
This confirmation followed the submission of a report by the Senate Committee on Science and Technology to the Committee of the Whole, presented by Senator Iya Aminu Abbas from Adamawa Central Senatorial District.
Abbas explained that the nominee was screened by the Committee as referred by President Bola Tinubu, with the Senate finding Dr. Adepoju qualified and experienced to lead the agency.
With no objections or hindrances, the Senators approved the appointment through a voice vote.
“That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Science and Technology on the confirmation of the nomination of Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju for appointment as the Director-General, national Space Research and Development Agency,” he said.
The appointment of Dr. Matthew Adepoju as the Director General of NARSDA by President Tinubu on May 27, 2024, was subsequently affirmed by the Senate.
