BREAKING: ABU Zaria Announces Prof. A. Ahmed As New VC
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU), has appointed Prof. Adamu Ahmed as its new vice-chancellor.
The announcement was made on Wednesday morning by the university’s public affairs directorate.
Prof. Ahmed was selected by the Governing Council of the institution, chaired by Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, during its 209th special council meeting.
He is a member of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the university and has previously served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement.
Currently, he also holds the position of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.
“Prof Ahmed’s appointment was announced at 6:15 am today (Wednesday, 5th February, 2025) during the 209th (Special) Council meeting presided over by its Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR,” the statement by ABU’s Public Affairs directorate reads.
Recall that Prof Ahmed succeeds Prof. Kabiru Bala as the VC of ABU.
