PDP Insider Segun Adewale Endorses Atiku Abubakar, Criticizes Party Factions

Chief Segun Adewale, a prominent PDP leader, has publicly backed former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the leader Nigeria needs to address its economic woes. Speaking from Lagos, Adewale dismissed calls by former PDP officials like Olabode George and Ayo Fayose for Atiku to quit the party or abandon his 2027 presidential bid.
Adewale praised Atiku’s political experience and resilience, stating, “He has been tested and tried… He has never given up.” He accused Atiku’s critics within the PDP of prioritizing personal interests over national welfare, saying, “All dissenting voices in our party are working for their stomach, not for Nigeria.”
He further asserted that no opposition party, including the Labour Party, can defeat the ruling APC alone. Adewale urged reforms in Nigeria’s electoral system, citing his own alleged electoral defeats due to systemic flaws, and called for unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
