Friday Night Disaster: Windstorm Leaves Trail of Destruction in Nasarawa
Residents of Mahanga community awoke to devastation Saturday morning after a midnight windstorm tore through the area. Preliminary assessments confirm over 50 residential buildings either partially or completely destroyed.
“The windstorm has damaged our homes, infrastructure, and school,” stated James Arthur, a community representative, while pleading for government relief materials and temporary shelters. Emergency response teams are yet to arrive as displaced families remain stranded.
