Enugu LP Publicity Secretary and Ex-Commissioner Defect to PDP, Highlighting Governor Mbah’s Impact

On Wednesday, two prominent Labour Party officials in Enugu State, Mr. Titus Odo, the party’s Publicity Secretary, and Prince Emeka Mamah, former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Mamah had also coordinated Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign in the state.
The pair had left the PDP during the 2023 elections for the LP but have now returned. The PDP State Chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, welcomed them at the party secretariat, noting that Governor Peter Mbah had instructed party leaders to win back former members.
“We are happy to have them in our midst and God has set this party on a good foot as 2027 is already assured,” Chukwunwike said, while calling for unity to prepare for the 2027 elections.
Odo, during his presentation, expressed happiness to be “back to my home,” attributing his return to the “giant developmental strides of Gov Mbah.” He also mentioned the defection of his immediate boss, Dr. Chijioke Edeoga, and the transformation of Igboeze North into a township under Council Chairman Uchenna Ogara.
Mamah thanked the PDP leadership and praised Governor Mbah’s “hands of fellowship” extended to former members, stating, “Personally, I am pleased with the performances of our governor.”
