EKSU Secures Full Accreditation for 18 Programmes from NUC, Enhancing Academic Reputation

Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, has been awarded full accreditation for 18 academic programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC), marking a pivotal moment in the university’s academic journey.
The accreditation exercise took place in the final quarter of 2024, with the official approval communicated via a letter dated April 30, 2025. The letter was signed by Abraham Chundusu, Acting Director of Accreditation at the NUC, representing the Commission’s Executive Secretary.
Bode Olofinmuagun, EKSU’s Directorate of Information head, stated, “The development also reaffirms EKSU’s growing reputation as the best state university in Nigeria according to the Times Higher Education 2025 universities ranking.”
The accredited programmes include a broad spectrum of disciplines: Administration, M.Sc. Business Administration, Master of Personnel Management, M.Sc. Finance, Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration, Art, Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, Philosophy, Building and Woodwork Technology Education, Electrical and Electronic Technology Education, Metal and Auto Mechanic Technology Education, Education Christian Religious Studies, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Law, Geology, and Psychology.
Professor Babatola Ayodele, the Vice Chancellor, described the accreditation as “a dream come true and a product of tireless efforts by the academic and administrative staff of the University.” He added that EKSU is “better positioned to meet the educational needs of Nigerian youth in cutting-edge and relevant fields of study.”
He also expressed appreciation to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Chancellor Dr Tunji Olowolafe, and Pro-Chancellor Professor Akin Oyebode for their unwavering support and dedication to the university’s growth on a global scale.
