Streaming platform Spotify has unveiled its list of the “Top 5 Female Afrobeats Artists in the Last 12 Months,” with Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr leading the pack.
Spotify described Ayra Starr as “the pop star of Afrobeats.”
Grammy winner Tems secured the second spot, followed by American-Cameroonian singer Libianca in third place.
Aya Nakamura, the Malian-French star, came in fourth, while British-Nigerian artist Darkoo rounded out the top five.
Notably, South African singer Tyla was absent from the ranking, despite dominating Afrobeats award categories over the past year.
