See what happened to Kano COVID-19 testing centre

The newly setup COVID-19 testing centre in Kano State has suspended its operation due to lack of kits for its operations.
The Director of the Centre for Infectious Diseases Research, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Isah Abubakar confirmed this on Wednesday, while speaking to news reporters.
Abubakar also said that the centre would remain locked until fresh test kits are supplied from Abuja.
He disclosed that samples taken in Kano will be sent to Abuja for testing, pending the resumption of operation at the Kano testing centre.

During the temporary closure, the laboratory will be fumigated as part of routine bio-safety measures to endure the safety of staff and the environment.
Meanwhile, Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has enforced the wearing of nose masks in public, making it compulsory for all citizens of the state.
Governor El-Rufai made the order few hours he was discharged by his doctors after more than 14 days in self-isolation.
The governor noted that with the amendment to the State Quarantine Regulations, his administration will make nose masks available to the poor and vulnerable people.
He however encouraged those that can afford it do so in order to protect them, their loved ones and everyone else from the spread of this disease.
He reminded the people of the state the government’s commitment to curtail the fast spread of the pandemic.
El-Rufa appealed to adhere to the laid down rules, such as staying at home, observe social distancing and proper personal hygiene to curb the deadly COVID-19.
