Why Sunday Igboho Is Still In Benin Republic Custody.
Onyxnewsng reports that Ibrahim Bamidele Salami, one of the five lawyers defending Sunday Igboho aka Sunday Adeyemo has asked what is the offence of the Yoruba activist.
Ibrahim Bamidele Salami who is based in Cotonou has also denied report that Igboho was tortured.
Igboho and wife, Ropo, were travelling to Germany before airport security arrested them. But the wife was later released.
The popular Yoruba activist appeared before the Cour D’Appal De Cotonou on Friday in one of the three stages of hearing which Mr Salami said he will need to go through them.
He also said Nigeria government had accused Igboho of dealing in weapons and planning to incite violence in Nigeria. But Igboho denied these accusations.
According to Salami to BBC: “People are spreading lies about Sunday Igboho’s arrest.”
“When we see meet Sunday Igboho in police station, he wasn’t beaten, or torture neither was he chained on the leg.”

“He was handcuff and that is against the law and it’s not part of human rights law.
“We had talked to the police and prosecutors about it,” Mr Salami said.
