BREAKING: UK Government Approve Visa Centre In South East State, Nigeria
The Enugu state government announced on Monday that the United Kingdom (UK) government has approved establishment of a visa centre in the state, streamlining visa applications for residents in the southeast area.
The Secretary to the state government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, shared this development, emphasizing that the centre will bolster the relationship between the state, Nigeria, and the UK.
Onyia recalled that the request for the visa centre was among the key points raised by Governor Peter Mbah during the visit of the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Richard Montgomery, to the Government House, Enugu, in June of this year.
Similar in the same June, requests were also made by Ohanaeze Ndigbo when the High Commissioner visited their national secretariat in Enugu.
Onyia went on to express the government’s joy and satisfaction upon receiving news of the visa centre, highlighting that it will foster economic collaboration and cultural interactions between Enugu State and the United Kingdom.
He added, “The Enugu State Government therefore looks forward to a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the UK, as the visa centre would help cement the relationship.”
The government encouraged the people, especially those residing in the South-East, to take advantage of this opportunity to submit their visa applications within the state. They assured that the government is committed to enhancing security for both residents and visitors conducting business in the state.
Onyia reiterated that the state is now more open for business and investment than ever before.
