Angry Fans Blaimed Eagles Over Lesotho’s Defeat

Nigerian fans expressed their disappointment in the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Lesotho in the first match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Eagles went down 1-0 before Semi Ajayi equalized.
Fans felt the performance was below par.
Super Eagles poor performance on the pitch brought about a storm of criticism, leaving supporters seething over the disappointing outcome. The echoes of disapproval found their way to social media with fans criticising Jose Peseiro, his tactics, and the passions of the players on the team.
OMOTAYO, a social media influencer Of Lagos wrote, “Imagine drawing against Lesotho that are ranked 153 by FIFA in your backyard, so many things are wrong with this team including the manager himself.”
Desmond Umeh also slammed the team and manager saying, “Very useless team and coach.”
Another user on X, (formerly called Twitter) Tosin Adeda angrily said, “I don’t remember the last time I watched a Super Eagles game this terrible. Sack this coach now before it’s too late.”
Lateef CFC equally expressed shame and asked for the home-based players to be given chance to prove their selves.
“We are a shame to watch Nigeria. Just play the home base let’s see what they are capable of. I don’t need these guys anymore.”
