EPL: Ten Hag Suspends Man Utd Striker From First-team Training
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has instructed Anthony Martial to undertake individual training in order to improve his fitness before he can be considered for selection.
According to Mail Sport, Martial has not trained with the rest of the squad since he fell ill with a sickness bug last month.
As a result, he has not played for the team since their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on December 9.
Ten Hag has been elusive in his comments about Martial’s fitness, and prior to the 2-2 draw with Tottenham last weekend, he stated that the player was not yet fit.
While there are no reported injuries, it is believed that Martial has not fully recovered from the illness he suffered last month.
Ten Hag’s decision for Martial to train alone is not a disciplinary action, but rather a strategy to address the player’s lack of match fitness through individual training.
