Bundesliga: Leverkusen Beat Bayern Munich To Go Five Points Clear
Following a 3-0 win over Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen has now taken a commanding five-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga.
The defeat dealt a significant blow to Bayern Munich’s hopes of defending their title.
With Alejandro Grimaldo’s goal, Leverkusen solidified their position as the only unbeaten team in Europe.
Grimaldo found the net shortly after halftime, adding to Josip Stanisic’s first-half opener, who is on loan from Bayern Munich.
In stoppage time, substitute Jeremie Frimpong sealed the victory for Leverkusen with a long-range goal, taking advantage of Manuel Neuer being out of position.
Looking ahead, Bayer Leverkusen will continue their title challenge with a match against Heidenheim next Saturday.
On February 18, Bayern Munich will travel to face Bochum.
