BREAKING: Benue Governor Signs N550.1bn 2025 Budget Into Law
The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has enacted the 2025 budget focused on Human Capital Development, Food Security, and the Digital Economy, which totals approximately N550,112,988,930.45.
On December 30, 2024, the Benue State House of Assembly formally approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill during a session led by the Speaker, Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh.
The budget signing took place on Monday at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi, where Governor Alia highlighted the significance of this event in his vision for a more promising future for the state.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the budget aims to enhance access to quality education, improve healthcare services, and support lifelong learning opportunities.
“The signing into law of the 2025 budget, the formal launch of the 10-year Development Plan, and these critical policies mark the beginning of a new chapter in our state’s story. We are laying the groundwork for a future where every citizen has the opportunity to succeed, live in dignity, and contribute to the growth of our state.
“Our work is not finished today; it is just the beginning. Together, we will build a brighter, more resilient future for ourselves and for generations to come.”
Governor Alia emphasized his administration’s dedication to empowering all citizens, regardless of age, with the essential knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed in an increasingly dynamic world.
He also highlighted his commitment to developing the digital economy, envisioning it as the future and expressing his resolve to take the lead in this initiative.
