Fire burnt down a female hostel in South Campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State on Wednesday night.
The Public Relations Officer of the polytechnic, Sola Lawal, on Thursday said that the cause of the fire which burnt down the female hostel under construction was unknown.
He confirmed no life was lost, properties were damaged in the incident.
Though, he commended the men of Osun State Fire Service and their Federal colleagues for quick response to the distress call, which according to him, prevented fire from spreading.
Administrative Officer of Osun State Fire Service, Fatai Aremu, said, when contacted, firemen in Oke Fia Unit did not receive a distress call from the scene late Wednesday and men were immediately mobilized to the polytechnic.
