Update: Adoke freed from EFCC custody

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN) has been freed from EFCC’s custody after being arraigned this earlier today before a Federal High Court in Abuja on new charges of money laundering.
Adoke who was arrested on December 19, 2019 after returning to Nigeria from a self-imposed exile, was granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako after being arraigned before the court on Monday 10, February.

Justice Binta subsequently ordered Adoke’s release after his counsel Mike Ozekhome revealed that his client had fulfilled the conditions attached to a previous and similar bail the former AGF was granted by the High Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja on January 30.
Adoke was released alongside co-defendant, Aliyu Abubakar who is being accused of paying a dollar equivalent of N300m into the former AGF’s account.
Adoke departed the court in Ozekhome’s car in the day.
