BREAKING: Coronavirus: Arsenal players isolated, EPL game postponed
In line with information on Tuesday that Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis has recently contracted Covid-19, there have been serious medical advice and individuals who had what the guidelines define as close contact with him at the game 13 days ago are traced, Premier League reports.
Due to the exercise, it has been known that some players met the Olympiacos owner immediately after the game.
The medical advice received puts them on risk of contacting Covid-19 at extremely low level. However, people are strictly following the Government guidelines which recommend that anyone coming into close contact with someone with the virus should be isolated at home for 14 days from the last time they had contact.
Onyxnewsng gathered that the players will not be available for tonight’s match against Manchester City and the Premier League planned that the game should be postponed.
The online news platfotm reports that the players will remain at their homes until the 14-day period expires. Including the four Arsenal staff sitting close to Marinakis during the match – will also remain at home until the 14 days are over.
Arsenal expressed disappointment to fans, in particular those who were travelling to Manchester to see the night’s match.
According to the club, tickets will be valid for the match when it’s rearranged.
As a further precautionary measure, it was not believed that there was any close contact with any other Arsenal guests or staff in the directors box restaurant, contact would be made for them to follow the relevant advice if there has been any such contact.
Meanwhile, Arsenal Football Club wishes Marinakis a quick recovery and the club look forward for players and staff returning to work on Friday in preparation for Brighton’s match.
