Nigerian Air Force produces, distributes oxygen to isolation centers (photos)
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has commenced the mass production and distribution of oxygen to isolation centers across the country.
According to Nigeria’s Defence Attaché to Moscow, Air Vice Marshal O.A Adesanya, the oxygen which were produced at the NAF Liquid Oxygen Plant, will be distributed to isolation centres and designated hospitals across the country.
Air Vice Marshal Adesanya said this via Twitter, he explained that this development is made in support of the national response to the coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic.
He tweeted; “I’m glad to note that the Nigerian Air Force has started distributing the oxygen being produced at its Liquid Oxygen Plant to isolation centres and designated hospitals across the country in support of the national response to #COVID2019 pandemic. Kudos @NigAirForce
On a related development, this reliable online news platform reports that coronavirus cases have risen to 17, 247, while 910 people have died of the deadly virus on the continent of Africa, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The Africa CDC, a specialised agency of the 55-member African Union (AU) Commission, in its recent news update said that South Africa, with 2,506 confirmed cases ranked first among African countries most severely affected.
AU also mentioned Egypt with 2,505 cases, Algeria with 2,160 cases, as well as Morocco with 2,024 cases as other countries in the continent most seriously affected.
The agency also said that some 3,546 persons who tested positive for the disease have now recovered after some time of isolation.
