Police arrest suspect linked to death of UNIBEN student (Video)

The Edo state Police command has arrested a suspect who is linked to the assault, and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the 22-year-old 100 level Microbiology student of the University of Benin was found dead in Redeemed Christian Church in Benin on May 27, 2020, after being smashed with a fire extinguisher.

Her death has evoked fury and sparked a fresh campaign against rape on the internet, with the police and the Edo state government assuring to find her murderers and bring them to justice.

“Police arrest suspect linked to murder of UNIBEN student.

“According to the spokesman of Edo Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, the suspect was arrested after the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined. #JusticeForUwa,” the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said through the micro blogging site Twitter.
