Buhari government releases fresh conditions for reopening schools

The Federal government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari has released fresh conditions before reopening schools and learning facilities amid deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
The fresh condition which is compulsory was contained in a 36-page document submitted to the Senate by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu.
The document entitled: “Guidelines for schools and learning facilities reopening after COVID-19 pandemic closure,” mandated that schools must create immediate temporary COVID-19 isolation space before they can be considered to reopen.
The ministry of education underscored the importance distance learning programmes. The fresh condition stated schools are also to create and adequately equip dispensaries and clinics as appropriate.
Onyxnews Nigeria reported earlier that the Minster of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has presented to the National Assembly a proposed date for the reopening of schools.
The Minister presented to the National Assembly a proposed date for the reopening of schools across the country as a post COVID-19 measure.
Onyxnews Nigeria reported that the minister made the presentation on Tuesday, 23 June 2020 during a meeting with the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education on the ministry’s plans for pupils who have been forced to stay at home following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
