Shocking! How Obasanjo mourned late Senator Kashamu Buruji
Obasanjo has berated late Kashamu Buruji for escaping justice.
OnyxNews Nigeria had reported on Saturday 8th August 2020 that Senator Buruji Kashamu died of coronavirus.
62-year-old Kashamu Buruji was the immediate past senator representing Ogun East at the Nigerian Senate.
Buruji, who represented the senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly died on Saturday at First Cardiology Consultants in Lagos, Nigeria.
Reacting to Kashamu’s death, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo sent a message of condolences to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on the death of the Senator.
Obasanjo says dead Kashamu Buruji escaped justice
Obasanjo who described Kashamu’s death as a great loss in a letter on Saturday, however, lamented that “Kashamu in his lifetime used the manoeuvre of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.”
The letter reads; “I have received the sad news of the death of Senator Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashamu), a prominent Ogun State resident. I extend my heartfelt condolences to my family and friends.
“Senator Buruji Kashamu in his lifetime used the manoeuvre of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria,” Obasanjo said.
“But no legal, political, cultural, social, or even medical manoeuvre could stop the cold hand of death when the Creator of all of us decides that the time is up.
“May Allah forgive his sin and accept his soul into Aljanah, and may God grant his family and friends fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Obasanjo condolence letter on late Buruji Kashamu read.
