BREAKING: North Korea Records Another Deadly Disease
Onyxnewsng reports that the North Korean government has announced another outbreak of a deadly disease in the country while still struggling to curb the spread of COVID-19 presently ravaging its citizens.
According to the Korean government on Thursday, more than 26,000 new cases of fever had been confirmed within 24 hours through 6 p.m. Wednesday, bringing the total number to around 4.56 million since late April, adding that the accumulated number of deaths during the period stood at 73.
Speaking to the press, the North Korean Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, who had confirmed the new disease outbreak, instructed medical officials to implement measures including quarantine, medical treatment and sterilization in a bid to contain an acute enteric epidemic.
Earlier, the leader had examined medicines that are meant to be sent to Haeju on June 15, 2022, following the outbreak of another infectious disease in South Hwanghae Province in the southwestern part of North Korea.
Kim has however donated his private medicines to people who have been infected with the new unidentified disease, noting that the latest outbreak occurred in South Hwanghae Province in the southwestern part of North Korea.
As gathered, on May 12, North Korea reported its first COVID-19 case since the pandemic began in 2020, but it is uncertain on the number of people truly infected with the coronavirus.
Also, that a considerable number of the fever cases that Pyongyang has reported have included patients with other infectious diseases such as typhoid.
