Video: Popular Socialite Farida Sobowale Rescued From Committing Suicide On Third Mainland Bridge
Lagos socialite cum skincare entrepreneur, Farida Sobowale, attempted to commit suicide on Thursday evening.
The mother of three drove her Lexus SUV to the Third Mainland Bridge, came down and tried to jump into the Lagoon when some passersby rescued her.
In a video which has since gone viral, she was captured in a black flowing gown, weeping as she was held by people who rescued her.
She was taken to the police station after she was rescued from her suicide mission.
This development is coming two months after the beauty cum skin care entrepreneur staged a lavish wedding running into millions of naira.
She got married to Demola Okulaja, her beau of more than two decades in Lagos State. However, rumour is rife that the marriage crashed a few weeks ago, which led to a rollercoaster of emotion for Farida and pushed her to attempting suicide.
The entrepreneur’s first attempt at the marriage institution was to actress Foluke Daramola’s ex-husband, Tunde Sobowale, son of former Commissioner for Education in Lagos State, Professor Idowu Sobowale, but the union unfortunately hit the rocks.
