Ongoing Strike Delays Coroner’s Inquest Into Mobhad’s Death

The ongoing strike led by organized labor has caused a delay in the coroner’s inquest into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
On Wednesday, security officials at the court prevented judiciary staff and magistrates from entering the building to continue the inquest.
This action was in full compliance with the nationwide strike.
According to reports, the courtroom remained locked as the strike witnessed widespread participation.
During the last session, the coroner had adjourned the hearing until Wednesday, November 15, for further proceedings.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the current strike is a nationwide protest by Nigerian workers, organized under the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
This protest aims to condemn the alleged brutalization of the NLC’s National President, Joe Ajaero, which occurred in Owerri, Imo State, on November 1.
Regarding Mohbad’s death, he was a former artist signed to Marlian Record label, owned by Naira Marley.
His demise on September 12 remains surrounded by controversy.
However, the ongoing strike has now affected the progress of the inquest into his passing.
