FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Dropped In Latest Ranking
In the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped two spots to 42nd in the world.
Despite the drop, the Eagles still maintain their 6th position in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt.
The rankings are based on the Eagles’ performance in the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, in which they drew 1-1 with Lesotho on Nov. 16 and 1-1 with Zimbabwe on Nov. 19.
Despite the lackluster performance, the team remains one of the top teams in Africa.
The latest FIFA rankings have been released, and although Argentina remains in first place, followed by France and England, the top five teams have changed positions.
Belgium and the Netherlands have climbed one place to fourth and sixth, respectively, while Brazil and Portugal have dropped to fifth and seventh, respectively.
Spain, Italy, and Croatia remain in the top ten, in eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively. Although the rankings have shifted, the top teams remain unchanged.
While Uruguay have made a significant jump of four places to 11th in the rankings, they remain just outside the top ten.
Meanwhile, the Comoros Islands have enjoyed an even more impressive rise of nine places to reach 119th, their highest-ever ranking.
Kosovo have also made progress, climbing four places to 101st, also a new high for the team. These results demonstrate the ever-changing nature of the rankings, with teams rising and falling as they experience different results.
