Popular Afro-pop Singer Zahara Is Dead
Bulelwa Mkutukana, a well-known Afro-pop singer from South Africa, widely known as Zahara, has sadly passed away at the age of 36. Her death occurred on Monday night at a Johannesburg hospital.
The news of her passing was shared by her family through a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday.
Reacting to her death,Zizi Kodwa, the South African Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, in a post on his official X, wrote: “I’m very saddened by the passing of @ZaharaSA. My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry.
“The government has been with the family for some time now. Zahara and her guitar made an incredible and lasting impact in South African music.”
It is worth noting that Zahara rose to fame with the release of her album “Loliwe” in 2011, which garnered her immense popularity.
However, she had been hospitalized in November due to complications with her liver.
Unfortunately, her condition worsened last week, leading to reports of her being unresponsive. It is truly a tragic loss for the music industry and her fans.
