Akeredolu’s Remains Arrive Nigeria [PHOTOS]
The remains of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, have been repatriated to Nigeria.
Akeredolu passed away in Germany, and his body was brought back to the country.
The plane carrying his body arrived at approximately 3:39 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024.
The wife of the late governor, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, his children, and siblings, led by his immediate younger brother, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, received the body.
Several dignitaries were also present to pay their respects, including Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde; Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbi Talabi; and a representative of Osun State Governor, Senator Demola Adeleke.
The Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, and members of the state executive council were also present.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, and a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, were among those who received the body.
The emotional scene at the airport showcased the grief of Akeredolu’s family members, followers, friends, and associates as the late governor’s body was solemnly lowered from the plane.
Rotimi Akeredolu passed away in Germany on December 26, 2023.
