Kano Gov Inaugrates 44 Caretaker Chairmen
The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated new caretaker chairmen for all 44 local government areas in the state.
These Local Government Interim Management Committees will serve for a period of three months.
The appointments were made following the endorsement from the state House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Affairs.
Governor Yusuf emphasized to the interim committee chairmen that their effectiveness during this period will influence whether their tenure is extended.
He also cautioned them against exhibiting domineering leadership styles, as the administration prioritizes zero tolerance for misconduct.
“The government would not hesitate to invoke sanctions where necessary,” Yusuf warned.
“The committee members were carefully selected and constituted.
“And I am determined to return the state to the path of progress and prosperity.
“Local government councils have important roles to play in this journey. You must embrace all and work hard to support our administration in fulfilling our campaign promises.
“You should be leaders prepared to exhibit exemplary conduct, as this administration has zero tolerance towards unbecoming behaviours.
“We will maintain close vigilance on the conduct of each and every one of you and will not hesitate to invoke sanctions or suspension,” he said.
