BREAKING: EU Suspends Israeli West Bank Settlers
The European Union, known as the EU, is implementing sanctions against extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank for the first time due to their acts of violence against Palestinians.
The agreement was finalized through a written procedure on Friday, allowing member states to decide on urgent matters without requiring ministers to travel to Brussels.
The sanctions specifically target individuals and organizations involved in violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, according to diplomats.
Those facing sanctions will be prohibited from entering the EU or engaging in business with EU citizens, and any assets or accounts they hold in the EU will be frozen.
These actions were taken under an EU sanctions regime aimed at addressing human rights violations.
