This Will Be My Last Euros – Ronaldo Confirms
Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s captain, has announced that Euro 2024 will mark his final tournament.
This revelation came after Portugal’s thrilling win over Slovenia in the round of 16 on Monday, which saw them advance to the next stage via a penalty shootout.
Although Ronaldo had a chance to score in extra time, his penalty was saved by Jan Oblak.
However, he redeemed himself by converting his penalty in the shootout, and goalkeeper Diogo Costa made three consecutive saves to secure Portugal’s victory.
Ronaldo said, “This will be my last Euro, of course.
“But I’m not moved by this. I’m moved by enthusiasm.
“I was sorry for the fans. I’ll always give my best for this shirt, whether I miss it or not. And I’ll do this my whole life. You have to take responsibility.”
