Nollywood’s Olori Adewumi Fatai Opens Up About Shocking Theft Allegation in the UK

Fast-rising Nollywood actress and makeup artist Olori Adewumi Fatai, known for her work in the Nigerian film industry, has opened up about a distressing experience she faced while in the United Kingdom.
In a recent interview with fellow actress Biola Adebayo, Fatai disclosed that she was accused of stealing gold upon her arrival at her destination. The allegation, she revealed, quickly spread within the Nollywood community, leaving her shocked at how fast the news traveled.
Detailing the incident, she recounted how a woman pointed at her and told her mother that she was responsible for the missing gold. The accusation deeply affected her, causing both her and her mother, who was in Nigeria at the time, to break down in tears. She also spoke about the challenges within the film industry, stating that the spiritual battles in Nollywood often surpass those faced within family circles.
Fatai further revealed that a man who had promised to secure visas for her and her son failed to fulfill his pledge, despite their previously cordial relationship. However, she credited her breakthrough in Nollywood’s makeup industry to someone who offered her support, while acknowledging Oluwole Cole Bakara as the benefactor who provided her with a complete makeup kit.
Following her revelations, fans and colleagues have expressed solidarity, sympathizing with her ordeal. Some have also used her experience to shed light on the difficulties Nigerians sometimes encounter when traveling abroad.
Despite the painful experience, Fatai has continued to thrive in her career. She remains a respected figure in Nollywood, known for her exceptional makeup artistry and growing influence in the industry. Her story stands as a reminder of the unexpected challenges individuals can face, even in unfamiliar environments.
