Oborevwori, Okowa Abandon PDP in Sweeping Defection to APC

Delta State’s political landscape underwent a seismic shift as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa led PDP members en masse to the APC.
Senator James Manager disclosed the decision post-meeting, stating: “We concluded that leaving the PDP was very necessary to collaborate and build a state every Deltan will be proud of.”
Aniagwu likened the PDP’s decline to soured palm wine, noting the move aimed to “cement development and security.” The defection, including local government chairmen and the Speaker, marks a strategic realignment ahead of 2027 elections.
