Labour Party Condemns Governor Oborevwori’s Defection Ceremony, Predicts APC Infighting

Delta State’s Labour Party has criticized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for holding what it terms a wasteful defection ceremony following the mass defection of PDP members to the APC.
Chief Tony Ezeagwu, National Vice Chairman South-South of the LP, made the comments on Tuesday in Asaba.
Ezeagwu described the defection as a misuse of Delta’s resources and declared that LP remains the only opposition party in the state. “We are the only opposition in Delta State now, we just thanked God that the governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his PDP members made the blunder by defecting to APC,” he said.
He predicted that the APC will experience significant infighting as defectors from different factions reunite, many having left the party before due to internal disputes. “No politicians have the interest of the people; it is personal interest,” Ezeagwu noted.
He also accused the defectors of continuing to loot public funds and said their move to APC validates Adams Oshiomhole’s statement that joining APC forgives all sins. According to him, APC is simply a refuge for such politicians.
