Nigerian military forces operating under Operation HADIN KAI are currently engaged in a fierce firefight with suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents following an attack on the community of Buni Gari in Yobe State.
The Nigerian Army confirmed the ongoing confrontation in a succinct statement posted on its official X account on Saturday morning. The statement read: “Troops of Operation HADIN KAI currently in a fierce battle against ISWAP attack at Buni Gari, Yobe State. Details later.”
