Tems to Star in Historic First Halftime Show at FIFA Club World Cup Final

Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been announced as the headline performer for the first-ever halftime show at the FIFA Club World Cup final. The event will be held on July 13, 2025, at the MetLife Stadium in New York, marking a historic moment for FIFA and global football culture.
Joining Tems on stage will be Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin and American pop artist Doja Cat, forming an international ensemble that celebrates the global nature of the sport and music. The halftime show is produced by Global Citizen and will be broadcast live and free on DAZN.com, making it accessible to football and music fans around the world.
Tems expressed her excitement and the meaningful purpose behind the performance: “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait. See you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!”
Muyiwa Awoniyi, from Tems’ management team, confirmed the performance and extended thanks to FIFA and Global Citizen leadership. “Pleased to announce that @temsbaby will be performing at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 on Sunday 13th July 2025 at the Metlife Stadium. A huge thank you to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans. This is the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition and we are proud and honoured to be a part of it.”
The halftime show also serves a charitable cause, with Global Citizen aiming to raise over $100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This fund supports education programs and FIFA’s Football for Schools initiative in more than 200 countries. Additionally, $1 from every ticket sold for the FIFA Club World Cup matches in the US will be donated to the fund.
Global Citizen emphasized the event’s global and unifying message: “The FIFA Club World Cup Final will feature a live halftime show produced by Global Citizen. With performances from artists across Africa, South America, and North America, this event reflects Global Citizen’s core belief: that music and unity can help solve the world’s greatest challenges.”
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is expected to be the largest global club football tournament in history, with millions tuning in worldwide. Tems’ participation highlights her growing international influence and the power of music to unite diverse audiences.
