BREAKING: Liverpool Forward Jota Dies At 28—Report
Portuguese media and the UK’s Daily Mail have reported that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has tragically passed away in a car accident in Spain at the age of 28.
Jota was reportedly travelling with his younger brother, André,a 26-year-old footballer when their vehicle was involved in a fatal crash on the A-52 highway in Zamora, located in the Castilla y León region of Spain.
Emergency services confirmed the crash. A statement from authorities read, “The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room received several calls reporting a vehicle accident at Km. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. A car was reported to have been involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire.”
The heartbreaking incident comes just two weeks after Jota tied the knot with his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, in a wedding ceremony held in Porto.
