BREAKING: FIFA Strips Liverpool, Madrid, Man City Club W’cup Titles
FIFA has officially revoked the Club World Cup titles previously held by Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
According to a ruling by the world football governing body, these three Premier League clubs—alongside former champions such as Real Madrid and Barcelona—will now be referred to as “FIFA Intercontinental Champions” rather than Club World Cup winners.
As reported by The Daily Mail, FIFA has chosen to recognize Chelsea as the inaugural official winner of the rebranded and expanded competition, making the Blues the only team that can legitimately claim the title of “world champions.”
Last week, Enzo Maresca’s side convincingly defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final to clinch the 2025 edition of the tournament.
This year marked the first time the Club World Cup featured 32 teams representing six confederations, signaling a new era for the competition.
The next edition of the Club World Cup is scheduled for 2029, with PSG, Pyramids, Al Hilal, and Cruz Azul already securing their spots after winning their respective continental titles last season.
