JUST IN: Tinubu Arrives Japan For Tokyo International Conference
President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Japan for the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).
Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, confirmed his arrival in a statement on Monday.
Onanuga noted that Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, along with Japanese officials, was present to welcome the President.
It was noted that President Tinubu, who departed Abuja on Friday, is accompanied by key government figures, including ministers and special advisers.
“In Japan, President Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in the City of Yokohama from August 20 to 22.
“In addition to attending plenary sessions on themes linked to the conference, the Nigerian President will hold bilateral meetings and meet the chief executive officers of some Japanese companies with investments in Nigeria,” Onanuga said
Following the conference, President Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, Brazil, for a two-day state visit from Sunday, August 24, to Monday, August 25, at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
