JUST IN: See Why Rivers Gov Fubara Visits Tinubu In Aso Rock
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday evening visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although the purpose of the visit was not immediately clear, it is believed to be linked to the President’s role in restoring peace in Rivers State.
According to Channels TV, the governor arrived alone at about 6:20 pm and proceeded directly to the President’s office.
Recall that President Tinubu had last week reinstated Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly who were suspended in March following the prolonged political crisis in the state.
In a statewide broadcast, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to the President for his intervention in the crisis and also commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for allowing peace to prevail.
